Kick-off For Groundwork at Tjeldbergodden – Salfjord Signs Contract Worth More Than 100 million

Date

The land-based aquaculture company, Salfjord AS, has signed an important contract with Tverås Maskin og Transport AS for the development of Salfjord’s plot at Tjeldbergodden. The work will begin as early as November.

“This marks the start of the construction project and is an important milestone for us,” says Hans Ramsvik, the CEO of Salfjord.

The contract sum covers the development of the entire Salfjord plot. It is the plot for the first construction phase that will be prepared for building start in 2026.

Competing Subcontractors
“There was significant interest from subcontractors, and we received several good offers,” says Ramsvik.

The choice fell on Tverås Maskin og Transport, which delivered the best bid. Ramsvik explains that a good reputation and reference projects from the aquaculture industry also played a role in the bidding process.

“Tverås Maskin og Transport has, among other projects, assisted Sinkaberg Hansen in the development of the Svaberget industrial area in Nærøy municipality,” he adds.

Ramsvik adds that the contract’s value is higher than the contract sum alone.

“Income from the sale of minerals is not included in the contract sum and will be shared between the companies,” he states.

Norconsult as Project Manager
Dag Øveraas and Sindre Moldskred from Norconsult Ålesund, have assisted Salfjord in project planning and selection of subcontractor for the project.

Norconsult has also supported Salfjord in the planning processes at Tjeldbergodden and on Salfjord II at Hyttneset further west in Aure municipality and will serve as project manager during the plot work at Tjeldbergodden.

“Norconsult has been a reliable and professional partner, ensuring confidence in the planning and project work,” says Ramsvik.

Raising Capital
For Salfjord, the coming months will be hectic.

In addition to the plot development starting shortly, the company is also engaged in a major capital raise.

“We are fully focused on capital raising, and we are therefore very pleased to have skilled and trustworthy partners in Tverås and Norconsult, who will ensure progress on the ground work,” Ramsvik concludes.
